12 Secrets to Internet Marketing Success

There are 12 secrets to internet marketing success.  Some of them are optional, or at least don’t have to be implemented right away.  But the more of the steps you follow, the greater will be your success in internet marketing.

1. The first secret to success is getting a capture page.  A capture page will be a web page that will “capture” a lead’s name and email address.  There are two steps to getting a capture page.

  • You will first need a domain name.
  • Then, you will need to either create a capture page on your own, or get one that is customizable from a source that you can get plugged into for not only the capture page, but also for lots of other things you need to succeed (see rest of article).

2. Next, you will need an autoresponder.  There are several places you can go for these.  Some companies will actually have some written out for you, so that you don’t have to worry about what to say, until you become much more comfortable with your business.

3. Training is of utmost importance in the success of your business.  Once again, there are several sources of training that are very good.  Where you go to get your capture page, if you decide to get a ready-made one, will provide good training for you.  I will also be telling you about other sources that provide excellent training.

4. Affiliate programs are important to bringing in residual income.  Residual income is income that will keep coming in, whether your leads join your primary opportunity or not.  Some affiliate programs will pay you month after month, and some will even pay you commissions down a level.  This means that if someone purchases from your link, then joins that affiliate and sells to someone else, you will get a commission off that sale as well.

5. Blogging is an excellent way to gain success in your internet marketing business.  You can use your blog to educate your prospects, thus creating interest in you.  They will begin to trust you and what you have to say, and will be more willing to opt in to your offer.

6. Mass emails can start getting traffic to your site.  You can send them either to your capture page directly, or you can send them to your blog first.  These emails are not considered spam if you go through a company that has people opt in to receive these emails.  If you click my opt in, you can learn about a company that I know of that will do just that for you.  (Or you may already be a part of this company.)

7. Free classified ads are a great way to get started on a small budget.  You may not get a lot of traffic at first, but the more ads you place, the more you will bring in prospects.  Also, as you become more familiar with this whole business, you can write better ads that should bring in even more traffic.

8. Article marketing is a great way to get traffic to your blog.  You write an article, maybe expounding on one of your blogs, and send it through an article submitter to several different ezines, newsletters, etc.  Then have the article send the readers to your blog, which then sends them to your capture page.

9. Paid advertising can bring in a lot of traffic, but you need a large budget to bring in really large amounts of traffic.  If you don’t have a large budget, you can still bring in traffic with smaller amounts of advertising, and use it to build a bigger advertising budget.

10. Social media can be an effective way to bring traffic to your blog, also, if you know how to use it.  Once again, there is training for it in the back office of one or more of the companies you can get hooked up with.  By social media, I mean Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.

11. Your primary opportunity should be your biggest money-maker.  But rather than bug friends and family, like most MLM companies want you to do, bringing them in by the back door (steps 1-10 above) is a much more effective way.  Once they get this far, it is much easier to sign people up in your primary opportunity.  And if they already have a primary opportunity and are not interested in yours, at least they are customers of yours anyway, and you have them on your lead list, which is essential to a successful business.

12. Lead lists, as I mentioned in step 11, are essential to your having a successful internet marketing business.  You need to keep a list of everyone who opts in, and build a relationship with them.  They need to trust you and feel like they know you.  This will help you to be able to sell them products and services more than if you were a stranger.
